Uses
Sodium alginate is a high viscosity polymer compound and a typical hydrophilic sol. As the best pulp for modern printing and dyeing industry, it has been widely used in printing various textiles such as cotton, wool, silk, nylon, etc.
Sodium alginate has carboxyl groups and a negative charge that does not react with reactive dyes, making it an ideal paste for modulating active and dispersing dye pastes, printed products have clear contours and bright colors: High coloring rate and good penetration, as a warp sizing material, it can make the warp fibers non pillng, friction resistant, and have a low breakage rate, therery improving weaving effeiciency, and is effective for both cotton firers and synthetic firers.
In addition, sodium alginate is also used in papermaking, daily chemical industry, casting, welding rod outer skin materials, fish and shrimp bait, fruit tree insect repellent, concrete demolding agent, high polymer coagulation and settling agent for water treatment, etc.
